Richard David Wolff (born April 1, 1942) is an Statesian "Marxian" economist, known for his work on economic methodology and class analysis. He runs a YouTube channel called Democracy at Work which promotes economic democracy in the form of trade unionism and state socialism.
Being an utopian and petit-bourgeois socialist, Wolff claims that the Soviet Union was state capitalist, whereas engineers in Silicon Valley leaving large companies to form their own software firms is an example of communism working in the United States.[1]
On his YouTube channel he has given explanations and analyses of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.[2]

According to Wolff, disaffected engineers who left large companies to form their own software firms are following the communist model. "Nobody's the boss," he says.
"Monday through Thursday, they work on their projects and Fridays, they have all-day meetings on how to use the profits for the company."”
