Succession

Succession is the a process by which the leader of a government, organization, or other group is chosen after the death of their predecessor. This is often hereditary, but may also be hand chosen by the previous leader prior to death. It is most often used in monarchies, but is also used after the death of an elected leader in bourgeois democracies.
