This article provides no satisfactory history of Kosovo and has the gaul to call it "Kosovo and Metohija" despite the Serbian propaganda of "Kosovo je Srbija", ignoring the hundreds if not even, thousands of years of Kosovar history.
The notion of Slavic inhabitation of Kosovo began not with the Serbs in their mystical tale of "Bitka na Kosovu" (Battle of Kosovo) but farther into the 6th century (Noel Malcolm's "A Short History of Kosovo"). Kosovo's first Slavs were noted to be Bulgarians under Khan Presian when Kosovo was incorporated into Bulgaria in the 9th century (Elsie, 2010). Between 1072 and 12th century, Kosovo was part of the Byzantine rule until the Nemanjić dynasty came in late 12th century and began incorporating Kosovo until accomplishing it by 1219 (Prinzing, 2008).
I also believe that the article should be renamed from "Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija" into "Kosovo" simply for a reason because Kosovo's history is as longitudinal as the rest of the histories are within the Balkan area. And also, it is because we don't (and shouldn't) be considering Kosovo as a 20th century creation with this downright ignorance.
