James David Vance (born August 2, 1984) is a Statesian politician currently serving as a Senator for Ohio. He is running for vice president in the 2024 presidential election along with running mate Donald Trump.[1]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Vance went to law school and then moved to San Francisco to work in venture capital firms connected to the tech industry. In 2017, he founded a company with one of the co-founders of AOL.[1]
Senate career[edit | edit source]
Vance's former boss Peter Thiel gave $15 million to his Senate run in Ohio in 2022.[1]
Political positions[edit | edit source]
Vance supports funding U.S. funding of Israel and aggression against China but wants avoid U.S. involvement in its proxy war in Ukraine.[1] His political positions have been influenced by Curtis Yarvin.[2]
