The '''Ku Klux Klan''' ('''KKK''') is a [[Far-right politics|far-right]] white supremacist organization in the [[United States of America|United States]].

== History ==
Former [[Confederate States of America (1861-1865)|Confederate]] general [[Nathan Bedford Forrest]] founded the Ku Klux Klan in 1865 to oppose voting rights for Black people in the aftermath of the [[United States Civil War|Civil War]]. The KKK was at its peak around the [[First World War]] and included many U.S. government officials.
