I want to join because I feel confident in my writing skills and wanted to contribute to a project that makes it easier for people to learn. I was interested in contributing to topics on art in the soviet union and heterodox economics.

| 4. i would describe gender as a complex socio-biological concept that relates to how a person is perceived by society, how they perceive themselves. I think that marxists should support the lgbt community, as marxism seeks liberation of all peoples.

| 1. Dialectical materialism is an analytical method that assumes that everything is interconnected (materialism) and that contradictions are ultimately resolved (dialectics).

| 4. I've read Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis which is an excellent analysis of the struggle under capitalism for women. Françoise Vergès' A Decolonial Feminism also touches on similar topics. Essentially, women's liberation is only possible with the abolition of capitalism.

| 5. Abolishing the family as a nuclear unit of society should be one of socialisms goals. If I was in charge of family abolition, I would focus on the commune as a unit where people share child care and chores between a dozen or so people. This liberates people to choose what they want to actually spend time on (especially women) and who they want to spend time with.

| 8. Israel is a settler colonial state which occupies Palestinian land. A single secular state of Palestine would be a resolution to the conflict, but it requires complete withdrawal of US forces, which would probably not happen soon.
