PROFUNC ("Prominent Functionaries of the Communist Party") was a top secret contingency plan developed by the Canadian Government to give the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) the authority to arrest communists and suspected communists en masse in the event of a third world war.
The programme lasted from 1950 to 1983.
