The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR or DNR; Russian: Донецкой Народной Республики) is a separatist state of limited recognition, located in the Donbass region in the eastern Ukrainian Oblast of Donetsk.[1]

Due to the colour revolution called Euromaidan that led to the rise of fascism in Ukraine, Russian minorities have been persecuted and this has resulted in the separation of Crimea and the founding of two separatist states in Donbass.

It is not a socialist state despite its suggestive name.
