Nguyễn Xuân Phúc (born 20 July 1954) is a retired Vietnamese Marxist–Leninist politician, who served as the President of Vietnam from 2021 until his resignation in 2023, following the Việt Á scandal. He had previously served as Prime Minister of Vietnam from 2016 until 2021, as well as a member of the National Assembly (until 2023). After his resignation, he was succeeded as president by Võ Văn Thưởng. His popularity in Vietnam has erdoed due to the Việt Á scandal.
