The Uyghur American Association (UAA) is an NGO in the United States. Rushan Abbas, who helped found the organization, reported for Radio Free Asia and worked as a translator at Guantánamo Bay. The UAA founded the Uyghur Human Rights Project in 2004 with a grant from the NED.[1]
