This page will be used to list various ways you can donate to ProleWiki to pay for the basic hosting costs, and with whatever surplus we come up with, we can democratically decide what to do with it.

Please use the discussion page to add ideas of other ways ProleWiki could accept donations.

Financial movements will be updated on the bottom of this page.

Terms of sending donations

Donations made to ProleWiki are normally not tax deductible -- check if they can be in your legislature.

Any donations sent to ProleWiki are subject to the platform's Terms of Service that the donation was made on.

Additionally, ProleWiki does not normally refund donations once received. However, if a donation was mistakenly entered in good faith, please contact us as soon as possible.

When making a donation to ProleWiki, you agree that it is your responsibility to make sure the funds were not obtained in an unlawful manner. The recipient of the funds denies all responsibility in regards to the provenance or nature of such donations.

By sending any amount of money through the various methods listed below, you agree to the above terms.

Democratic intent on the excess

If you contribute to ProleWiki, you can join our Discord and democratically decide on how we spend our funds. You will be able to get the contributor role which gives you access to a specific channel without having to go through vetting.

Please do note that receiving the contributor role does not make one immune to rule violations.

Our current strategy is to hold 2 years' worth of hosting (currently 530 USD) in a bank account expressly created for ProleWiki. After that, any excess will be discussed and voted on as for what to do with it.

Recurring payments

Liberapay

Liberapay is similar to Patreon, but it allows donators more control over their spending (choosing their amount as well as a weekly or monthly donation) and respects privacy. As such, we recommend it over Patreon.

Patreon

Patreon is easy to use, but since it's closed source and US-based, we might risk becoming de-platformed for ideological reasons. But please support us there while you can!

Paypal

Our PayPal is prolewiki AT yandex.com. We are in the process of setting up a paypal.me link to make payments easier, as you need a PayPal account to donate directly through the email address.

Pix

Pix is a direct payment processor found in Brasil. With it, you can make donations in Brazilian Real (BRL) directly without fees. This is the random key to send it to:

Cryptocurrencies

Our current crypto strategy is to sell everything as soon as we receive crypto, so that we receive exactly the value of your donation.

Monero is a privacy cryptocurrency, which is is used to keep donors anonymous.

Bitcoin is a little less anonymous if you're not careful, so donate at your own risk. Due to Bitcoin's transparency, anyone is able to verify how much is in the wallet.
