The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (د افغانستان اسلامي جمهوریت), also known as Afghanistan (افغانستان), is a country in Central Asia.
It is the successor state to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, after it was overthrown by the islamist proxy forces of the USA, the Mujihadeen (which later became Al-Qaeda, and later still, ISIS.
The US invasion began a year after the founding of the DRA, and the subsequent wars continue to this day.
