Fraudulent Marketing

On September 2, 2009, Pfizer was sued for $2.3 billion by the U.S government for fraudulent marketing of multiple products.[2]

Pfizer bribed the U.S government for $1 billion to resolve allegations under the False Claims Act of illegal promotion of the drugs: Bextra, Geodon, Zyvox, and Lyrica; and illegal bribery of hospital to promote these drugs.[2]

Nonconsensual Human Experimentation

In the Abdullahi v. Pfizer, Inc lawsuit; Pfizer was found to have conducted unconsensual testing, with trovafloxacin, on 200 nigerian children. The lead investigator, Abdulhamid Isa Dutse, later provided a letter of approval for human trials that was found to be falsified.[3]

In 2007, the government of Nigeria sued Pfizer for $6.95 billion as a result of this case.[4]
