Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez is a USA-backed Venezuelan politician and coup leader who claims to be the President of Venezuela, a title actually held by Nicolás Maduro.[1]
Early life
Guaidó moved from Venezuela to Washington, D.C. in 2007, where he studied under a former IMF director at George Washington University. After returning to Venezuela, he founded the right-wing Popular Will party.[1]
Coup attempts
Guaidó organized riots in 2014 that killed 43 people.[1]
