1. I learned about it on lemmygrad. I have visited it only a couple of times so not really familiar. I want to join because I feel confident in my writing skills and wanted to contribute to a project that makes it easier for people to learn. I was interested in contributing to topics on art in the soviet union and heterodox economics. 2. I would say I uphold Marxist-Leninist views, but right now I'm also researching MZT and modern Chinese socialism. 3. I have read the principles and have no objections. 4. i would describe gender as a complex socio-biological concept that relates to how a person is perceived by society, how they perceive themselves. I think that marxists should support the lgbt community, as marxism seeks liberation of all peoples. 5.I think they where important leaders for the success of socialism in their countries. Although I do disagree with Stalin's policies of removing progressive laws on homosexuality for instance. 6. I think they are important countries that continue the socialist struggle despite great challenges. All of them are socialist as they have achieved a dictatorship of the proletariat.
Secondary: 1. Dialectical materialism is an analytical method that assumes that everything is interconnected (materialism) and that contradictions are ultimately resolved (dialectics). 4. I've read Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis which is an excellent analysis of the struggle under capitalism for women. Françoise Vergès' A Decolonial Feminism also touches on similar topics. Essentially, women's liberation is only possible with the abolition of capitalism. 5. Abolishing the family as a nuclear unit of society should be one of socialisms goals. If I was in charge of family abolition, I would focus on the commune as a unit where people share child care and chores between a dozen or so people. This liberates people to choose what they want to actually spend time on (especially women) and who they want to spend time with. 6. I would say solving the housing crisis, reducing reliance on fossil fuels. 8. Israel is a settler colonial state which occupies Palestinian land. A single secular state of Palestine would be a resolution to the conflict, but it requires complete withdrawal of US forces, which would probably not happen soon.
