George Lester Jackson (September 23, 1941 – August 21, 1971) was a Statesian revolutionary and political prisoner. He was sentenced to prison for life at the age of 17. He began organizing inside prison and became a field marshal for the Black Panther Party. He and two other inmates were sent to a trial in 1970 following the death of a white prison guard. He was assassinated in on August 21, 1971 during a rebellion at San Quentin prison.[1]
