Guam is a U.S. colony in the western Pacific Ocean. In January 2023, the U.S. Marines opened a new base on the island that will contain 5,000 Marines to be used against China.[1]
History
The United States under President William McKinley invaded and occupied Guam in 1898 shortly after the invasion of Hawaii.[2]
