The Indian People's Party, known as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Hindi, is a reactionary nationalist party in India that ruled from the 1990s to 2004. It targeted Muslims and communists while allowing foreign corporations to take over India's economy.[1] Current prime minister Narendra Modi is a member of the party.[2]
