My comrade charhapiti introduced me to ProleWiki to merge our website (People's Land of Learning) content onto here.
2. What current of Marxist thought do you uphold? Describe as thoroughly as needed your path towards your current political perspective.
I started off as a liberal and moved into anarchist spaces later on, but got very upset by all the idealism and Western propaganda these spaces often have. After moving to Marxist-Leninist spaces I now have a firmer grasping on Socialism in general and I have learned more than what I did in those previous circles. Now, I am a Marxist and staunch dialectical materialist.
3. Have you read our principles? Comment your agreements or objections to our principles.
Yes, of course and I agree with the core tenets of the site.
4. What is your understanding of gender? Should Marxists support the LGBT community?
Gender is a social construct that reflects how an individual identifies themself as. Due to colonialism and Western influence, gender diverse people such as myself are marginalised as the colonisers force them to be within a strict gender binary. As queerphobia is yet another force of colonialism, Marxists should of course support the LGBT community.
5. What is your position on Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong? How would you describe their historical role? Share any comments or critiques you have regarding them.
I am not too familiar with either figure, I am certain that Stalin provided for the USSR and its people and Mao gave a lot of contributions to Marxism-Leninism for China at the time that are still applicable to this day. Any criticisms of the both of them, I would not be able to tell as I am still not knowledgeable about the two.
6. What are your thoughts on China, Vietnam, Cuba, DPRK and Laos? Do you believe any of these countries is socialist? Why or why not?
China, Vietnam, Cuba, the DPRK, and Laos are all countries that are developing towards socialism according to Marxist-Leninist principles.
SECONDARY VERIFICATION QUESTIONS:
1. In your own words, how would you describe dialectical materialism?
Dialectical materialism is the philosophical principles of Marxism which adopts aspects of Hegelian dialectics and mechanical materialism in order to create a framework for viewing the world as a web of relationships between concrete materials, where not one thing cannot be disconnected (whether directly or indirectly) from another. This allows for more accurate and truthful analysis as it is describing the world as it is: a dynamic organism.
3. What are your thoughts on national liberation or the concept of land back (either one)?
Land back is absolutely necessary in order to rectify the harm done on the land and its inhabitants by the colonialists. Any communist who does not support decolonising the land is one that supports Western imperialism.
6. What in your opinion is the most pressing matter for communists in your country?
The most pressing matter for communists in my country, the United States, is re-education. The U.S. is largely unorganised and inundated by imperialist propaganda and all of that must be rectified. Communists themselves also need decolonisation, as I have seen a lot of leftists who support anti-colonialism and yet still have aspects of Western chauvinism and still operate under a colonialist framework. The priority of United States communists (and probably all communists in the imperial core) is to educate themselves and educate others to further class consciousness.
7. What do you believe is the main difference between Marxism and other anti-capitalist movements?
From what I have seen, Marxism is one of the only anti-capitalist movement that actually has a framework for their activism (dialectical materialism). Having been in anarchist spaces, I have seen them have poor organising because of their idealist tendencies and improper analysis. This can also be seen with radlibs who call themselves anti-capitalist but their anti-communism prevents any truly revolutionary thinking, only leading to opportunism in their movement. Marxism prevents this by being a tool one can apply to for a specific set of material conditions, which curbs poor analysis and idealism.
8. What is your analysis of the situation between Israel and Palestine?
Israel is an imperialist state backed by the United States that is colonising Palestinian land and oppressing its people. As with any agent of Western imperialism, it should not exist and Palestine must be liberated.
