Not really sure what to say here but I’d consider myself a Western Marxist, particularly in which I agree with Althusser’s perspective on Marxism, which emphasises theoretical anti-humanism (rejecting every form of essentialism), antihistoricism (distinction between history as a process and theoretical conceptualization of history), and the existence of contradictions in Marx’s writings, especially stressing Marx’s ‘epistemological break’ after 1845.
