Edwin "Ed" Woodrow Holt (1918 – 19 August 1941[1][2]) was a Statesian aviation cadet of the U.S. Navy notable for being the first Pearl Riverite to lose his life in uniform during World War II. North Middletown Road, a street in Pearl River, was renamed to 'Holt Drive' in his memory.[3][4]
