Edwin "Ed" Woodrow Holt (1918 – 19 August 1941[1][2]) was a Statesian aviator in the U.S. Navy from Pearl River, New York, notable for having been the first Pearl Riverite as well as the first person from Rockland County to lose his life in uniform during World War II.[3] North Middletown Road, a street in Pearl River, was renamed to 'Holt Drive' in his memory.[4][5]
