Jean-Paul Charles Aymard Sartre (21 June 1905 – 15 April 1980) was a French existentialist philosopher. He criticized capitalism and believed that it eliminated freedom through alienation but also thought that revolution was impossible. His philosophy centered around the individual.[1]
