MICIMATT is a an acronym which stands for Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think-Tank. It is an extension of the concept of theMilitary-Industrial Complex (MIC) which provides a bit more nuance into who the war-makers are. The term was coined by Ray McGovern, a former CIA officer turned political activist and critic of US foreign policy.[1][2]
While the acronym is rather obscure, McGovern recommends remembering it by thinking "Micky Mouse" which rhymes with the intended pronunciation of MICIMATT ("Micky Matt")
