Prabir Purkayastha

Prabir Purkayastha is an Indian journalist and founder of the NewsClick website. He was abducted from Jawaharlal Nehru University in August 1975, three months into the Emergency, and imprisoned under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act. In 2023, the Modi regime arrested him and Amrit Chakraborty, the adminitrative head of NewsClick, under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.[1]
