Proletarian internationalism is a movement of international solidarity that seeks to unite workers of various nations against capitalism. It does not reject the right of individual nations to self-determination.[1]
Origins and Ideology
The concept of proletarian internationalism was formulated by the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, popularized by the quote "Workers of the world, unite!". Proletarian internationalism emphasizes communism as an international movement, and stresses the need for worldwide revolution.
Practice
Proletarian internationalism has been put into practice by various groups. It was a core belief of the Bolshevik Party, and later the CPSU.
