Sam Ballan (1911 – February 1, 1998), better known as Sam Marcy, was a Statesian Marxist-Leninist who founded the Workers World Party in 1959.[1] He advocated for revolutionary defeatism against imperialist governments as well as revolutionary defencism of the international proletariat[2] and supported decolonization and self-determination for colonized peoples.[3]
