Rafael Sebastián Guillén Vicente (born 19 June 1957) is a Mexican insurgent, revolutionary, military leader and former spokesperson for the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). On 1 January 1994, Marcos, along with the EZLN, captured territory in southern Mexico's Chiapas state, which they still hold to this day. As of 2023, Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador has threatened civil war against the EZLN.[1][2]
