(We will be posting announcements regarding the library in this talk space as not every editor uses our means of communication outside the wiki itself)
In September 2023, a vote was taken between the Trusted editors -- as is customary -- to name a library maintainer. @Emby was picked for this task by an 11-0 vote, who showed interest in maintaining the library and was thus put to a vote with administration approval. Emby was qualified for this position on the basis of showing interest and having a tech background -- which is (lightly) required for working on the new library -- and, of course, passing the account vetting stage.
By the way, all editors are encouraged to make their interests and skills known to the administration and we will try to find somewhere to put your skills to use!
Tasks of the library maintainer are still being defined and expanded, but they generally include:
- Working on and editing library works: fixing typos, categorizing, infobox, etc.
- Updating the library home page (cards, categories, topics etc) and generally improving it with her own ideas
- Eventually, Emby will become the main point of contact for library related questions
Very big tasks are contained in this very short description, as you can see the scope is quite wide already. We hope that her work as library maintainer will help free up time for the administration to work on other tasks.
