Comrade 420dengist named Library maintainer

After discussion with Emby, she has decided to step down from the library maintainer role due to time constraints.

As we needed a replacement, the editorship has voted in @420dengist, also known as Ulaan, as the new library maintainer. He will be taking on the tasks Emby previously had on top of his tasks as the Essays maintainer.

The editorship thanks comrade Emby for the amount of effort she put into the library to make it what it is. She will remain a normal editor on the wiki.

Please direct all questions about the library to him, and refer to his best judgment when editing the library.

@Ledlecreeper27 I put back the rest of the cards that I took out. I had messaged you on discord yesterday. I regret having taken the cards that you added out and then messaging you though rather I wish I had approached you before making that decision of taking them out. Sorry about that. Thanks for all your work! I appreciate it. Hoping we can chat a little to get on the same page. My suggestions are in the discord.

If you're adding works to the library check my sandbox for helpful functions

Comrade:CriticalResist/sandbox/Library stuff

I have regex functions in this sandbox section to help out with importing books and texts faster. You can first OCR pdf files to turn them into raw text and then run the regex functions on that. Definitely makes importing books much, much faster so check them out.

I would like to move away from MIA as much as possible so I also added other online libraries to get books from (just make sure, if you get texts from there, that they didn't get them from MIA). MIA is known to edit texts they don't like and they actually admitted to it themselves.

changes implemented to the frontend

I had the idea that it might be time to start overhauling our library.

The situation we are at currently is that the library is a very top-to-bottom page where everything is piled on top of each other. This is a legacy of the first version of the library, added early in ProleWiki's development, that didn't really follow a template and didn't really have that many books at the time.

Since then however, the library has grown quite a lot. We even host study guides, non-socialist texts, transcripts, official documents, etc.

I'd like to start thinking about completely redoing our library to make it:

1. Easier to browse and find what you're looking for 2. More pleasing to look through (very UI-oriented)

I was thinking of a card layout (if that's possible on the software) that would have the author's picture and their name below, and by clicking on the card, you get taken to their category page. Example: https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Category:Library_works_by_Vladimir_Lenin.

In a second phase, I was also thinking of how to let people who don't necessarily have an account add books. Authors might be interested in making their books available to us, and parties could even submit their official documents directly to us. I'm not entirely sure how to do that, but I know at least you can copy from Google Docs or Microsoft Word and paste to the visual editor 1:1 without any loss in formatting. This system would help fill up the library hopefully faster, with rarer books, and with less work on our editors' part to manually format text we copy.

I'm interested in setting up a work group on the Discord for this task if anyone is interested. It's preferable if you have experience in UI design, but anyone who's motivated can join. Right now, we'll be collecting ideas and looking at doability, nothing is set in stone yet.
