I had the idea that it might be time to start overhauling our library.

The situation we are at currently is that the library is a very top-to-bottom page where everything is piled on top of each other. This is a legacy of the first version of the library, added early in ProleWiki's development, that didn't really follow a template and didn't really have that many books at the time.

Since then however, the library has grown quite a lot. We even host study guides, non-socialist texts, transcripts, official documents, etc.

I'd like to start thinking about completely redoing our library to make it:

1. Easier to browse and find what you're looking for 2. More pleasing to look through (very UI-oriented)

I was thinking of a card layout (if that's possible on the software) that would have the author's picture and their name below, and by clicking on the card, you get taken to their category page. Example: https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Category:Library_works_by_Vladimir_Lenin.

In a second phase, I was also thinking of how to let people who don't necessarily have an account add books. Authors might be interested in making their books available to us, and parties could even submit their official documents directly to us. I'm not entirely sure how to do that, but I know at least you can copy from Google Docs or Microsoft Word and paste to the visual editor 1:1 without any loss in formatting. This system would help fill up the library hopefully faster, with rarer books, and with less work on our editors' part to manually format text we copy.

I'm interested in setting up a work group on the Discord for this task if anyone is interested. It's preferable if you have experience in UI design, but anyone who's motivated can join. Right now, we'll be collecting ideas and looking at doability, nothing is set in stone yet.
