Vijay Prashad (born 14 August 1967) is an Indian historian, journalist, commentator, and Marxist intellectual. He is an executive-director of The Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research and the chief editor of LeftWord Books.
Early life
Prashad was ten years old when the Left Front won the elections in his home state of West Bengal. In 1981, he bought his first copy of Capital and read it along with John Reed's Ten Days That Shook the World and Marx's writings on the Paris Commune.[1]
