Mufid Abdulqader (born 1960) is a Palestinian activist and former political prisoner.
Early life[edit | edit source]
Abdulqader was born in the Jordan-controlled West Bank in 1960. He studied at the University of Oklahoma in the United States, where he earned a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, and became a visiting lecturer at several U.S. universities.[1]
Imprisonment[edit | edit source]
Abdulqader raised money for the Holy Land Foundation, the largest Muslim charity in the USA, which mainly helped Palestinians in Ramallah. After 9/11, the Bush regime, working with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, imprisoned Abdulqader and four others for allegedly funding Hamas. In 2008, 29 of the 32 conspiracy counts against Abdulqader were dropped. He was finally released from prison in 2024.[1]
