Boris Grigoriyevich Bazhanov (9 August 1900 – 30 December 1982) was a counterrevolutionary who infiltrated the Soviet Politburo as a secretary.[1]

Early life

Bazhanov was born in 1900 and saw the Red Army enter Kiev in 1919. When the Civil War ended, he decided to infiltrate the Bolshevik Party and organize a counterrevolutionary coup.[1]

Infiltration

Bazhanov became Secretary of the Central Committee in 1923 and attended all Politburo meetings until he defected to the West in 1928.[1]
