Second Thought is a socialist media outlet that produces medium-length online videos in English. It is produced by JT Chapman who lives in the United States. JT Chapman is also a co-host of the podcast The Deprogram with Hakim and Yugopnik.

With over 1.3 million subscribers and 130 million views as of 2022, he is one of the most popular socialist creators on YouTube.[1]

Content[edit | edit source]

Second Thought creates content which is largely intended for more nascent socialists and communists. Furthermore, he largely focuses on social, political, and economic problems that are most relevant to viewers in the United States of America. He commonly addresses myths and propaganda spread by the corporate media about capitalism, and uses factual information to show how it is an exploitive system.

He also tends to talk about present trends in the capitalist news, which often includes discrediting its lies. An example of Second Thought's reporting is its exposure of the Western media's lies about the 2021 Cuban color revolution attempt.[2]

In March 2023, JT announced plans to start a left-wing news outlet called First Thought that will release content three days a week.[3]
