The Korean People's Army (KPA) is the military of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the revolutionary armed wing of the Workers' Party.[1] It consists of five branches: the Ground Force, Naval Force, Air and Anti-Air Force, Strategic Rocket Force, and the Special Operation Force. It has 1,280,000 active duty soldiers and 600,000 reserves.[2]

In November of 2023, the Korean People’s Army acquired both their first tactical nuclear attack submarine and their first reconnaissance satellite.[3]
