Emma Goldman (June 27, 1869 – May 14, 1940) was a Lithuanian-born anarchist. FBI leader J. Edgar Hoover called her "one of the most dangerous women in America." When Leon Czolgosz assassinated U.S. President William McKinley after listening to Goldman's speeches, authorities imprisoned her for two weeks.[1]
