History[edit | edit source]
Fascism[edit | edit source]
The Sammarinese Fascist Party was founded in 1922 and took power in 1923 under Captain Regent Giuliano Gozi, shortly after Mussolini took power in Italy. Gozi banned all opposition parties. Socialists started an anti-fascist resistance in the early 1940s. On 28 July 1943, fascist rule ended and new elections were called.[1]
