Sammurāmat (c. 850 BCE – c. 798 BCE), also known by the Greek name Semiramis, was a queen of Assyria. She effectively ruled the country during the reign of her son Adadnārārī III until he reached adulthood. During his reign, Assyria reconquered Babylonia and fought campaigns in Syria.[1]
