The Balkans, also known as the Balkan Peninsula, is a peninsula in southeast Europe. The states existing currently in the Balkans are:

• Hellenic Republic
• Republic of Turkey
• Republic of Albania
• Republic of North Macedonia
• Republic of Bulgaria
• Republic of Serbia
• Montenegro
• Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Republic of Croatia
• Romania

However, many Former Existing Socialism states were there as well. These were:

• People's Republic of Albania
• Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
• People's Republic of Bulgaria
• Socialist Republic of Romania
