Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, birth name Skryabin (9 March 1890 – 8 November 1986) was a Soviet revolutionary, diplomat, and politician. He was the last surviving major participant in the October Revolution at the time of his death in 1986. Shortly before his death, he criticized the revisionist policies of Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze.[1]

Political career

Molotov, Malenkov, Kaganovich, and Voroshilov opposed Khrushchev's Secret Speech and attempted to remove him from power in 1957. Their anti-revisionist group controlled seven of 11 seats on the Presidium, but the Central Committee removed them from leadership positions.[2]
