'''Johann August Ernst von Willich''' (19 November 1810 – 22 January 1878) was a former [[Kingdom of Prussia (1708–1918)|Prussian]] noble, general, and early German [[Communism|Communist]].  Willich took part in the [[German revolutions of 1848–49]], with [[Friedrich Engels]] serving as his aide.  Afterwards Willich emigrated to [[Swiss Confederation|Switzerland]], the [[United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland|United Kingdom]], and finally the [[United States of America|United States]].  During the [[Statesian Civil War]], Willich led the almost all-German [[32nd Indiana Infantry Regiment]], participating in the [[Atlanta campaign|Atlanta]], [[Chickamauga campaign|Chickamauga]], and [[Chattanooga campaign|Chattanooga campaigns]].  Willich returned to Prussia in 1870 and died in 1878.
