Social media is a form of online user-generated media. In the 21st century, it has become the main form of media and is used by billions of people. It is capable of spreading revolutionary socialist ideas but also has the potential to undermine democratic centralism by violating party unity and discipline.[1] The U.S. government, including the NSA and CIA, use mainstream social media outlets including Facebook,[2] Twitter,[3] and Reddit for mass surveillance.[4]
