Brooklyn Eviction Defense (BED) is a coalition of tenants offers assistance for tenants to fight against landlord harassment, threats of eviction, displacement, repair negligence, and gives renters the tools and skills to build tenants unions. They've also become involved in setting up homeless unions.
While not affiliated to any political party, its activities are somewhat similar to the CPUSA's Unemployed Councils, or the various Community Survival Programs offered by the Black Panther Party.
