The bourgeois capitalist-imperialist governments have limited tools to respond to the food crisis without violating their "free market" principals. [4]
The socialist world directs its production in line with the needs of its citizens, which allows for greater food security. Examples of this is China's state-directed advances in food technology, such as the invention of rice that can grow in saltwater. [5]
