Mao Zedong (December 26th, 1893 — September 9th, 1976) was a Chinese Marxist-Leninist revolutionary who lead the Chinese people to their proletarian revolution and served as the supreme leader of the People's Republic of China from 1949 to 1976.
Comrade Mao's contributions to the development of Marxism-Leninism, military theory, and the theory of communist party organization are known in China as Mao Zedong Thought. Mao Zedong was also a poet and calligrapher.
Early life
Mao began studying Marxism in 1919 when it spread to his hometown of Hunan. In 1921, he left for Shanghai to attend the First National Congress of the CPC.[1]
