Edward Poindexter (1944 – December 7, 2023) was a Statesian political prison targeted by COINTELPRO. He spent 53 years in prison and was a member of the National Committee to Combat Fascism, an organization associated with the Black Panthers.[1]
Arrest and imprisonment
An anonymous 911 call sent police to an abandoned building where a bomb killed Patrolman Minad. The FBI accused Poindexter and Wopashitwe Mondo Eyen we Langa. The FBI withheld the audio of the call from the jury, which convicted both defendants. After the FBI interference, the Nebraska Supreme Court refused to overturn the conviction.[1]
