Meni (late 4th millennium BCE), known as Menes in Greek sources, was the first king of the first dynasty of Egypt. He may have led the kingdom of Upper Egypt to conquer Lower Egypt and unify the country before 3000 BCE. He was either a successor of Narmer or the same person. It is not clear whether they were the first ruler of unified Egypt or if there were other kings before the first dynasty.[1]
