In 2022, there is an ongoing food crisis that is resulting in high inflation in food prices and increased food insecurity and hunger.[1][2] In the United States, the wheat crop was affected by a dry winter and a soggy spring which has diminished the output severely.[3]

Responses
The bourgeois capitalist-imperialist governments have limited tools to respond to the food crisis without violating their "free market" principals. [4]
The socialist world directs its production in line with the needs of its citizens, which allows for greater food security. Examples of this is China's state-directed advances in food technology, such as the invention of rice that can grow in saltwater. [5]
