QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory based in the United States that began in October 2017 when an anonymous account called "Q" posted on the far-right website 4chan. Q has called for regime change in Iran.[1]

Beliefs

QAnon followers believe that Donald Trump is trying to save the United States from a satanic pedophile network run by the Democratic Party. They believe that Trump will organize an event called "The Storm" to prevent Jews from supposedly taking over the United States.[2]

Support

Right-wing figures such as Sean Hannity, Roseanna Barr, and Alex Jones have promoted QAnon.[1] In addition, many police are supporters of QAnon. As of September 2020, a third of Republicans believe in QAnon and 23% more partially believe in it.[2]
